This is not an "Amplified" antenna!2
This antenna works good as far as a "rabbit ears" (with UHF loop) goes, but it does not amplify the signal. It has no power input and therefor cannot amplify the signal. The manufacturer's packaging does not indicate that it is amplified and Amazon should not advertise it as being amplified.

Provides good picture4
I am quite content with this product. My stations come in clearly. I even get some staions that I was not getting with my previous Radio Shack rabbit ear antenna. The whole thing appears to be more sturdy and well balanced then ones I have previously owned.

cool5
i live on the first floor of a 4 floor L shape dormitory and I'm facing the rear end with nothing but forest behind me, so getting a signal was a bit tough with other antenna's so i had bought this soley on previous reviews, and it works great.

A great fountain, don't believe the hype!5
I've had a HoMedics fountain for years, and recently the pump went down, so I read up on their new products. After reading all the good about this particular fountain, as well as the negatives people had noted, I decided to buy one and see for myself. I'm REALLY glad I did, it's a fantastic little thing. For one, I can personally say that anyone who made a claim about the following was over exaggerating:

1)Water Noise: This fountain creates a lovely, light 'babbling brook' effect, even when placed on the lowest flow rate. So if you're afraid of a fountain making too much noise, worry no more. And if by chance you're someone who likes fountains that are capable of making a lot of sound, this is also the one for you. The adjustable pump, as well as the inset cover on the final tier, allow you to have the water flow passively back to the pump, or directly back into the bottom reservoir (if one were so inclined). The latter creates a distinct water-on-water sound, which may be desired by some. All together, nice options for sound level, and I assure you it's not too loud or annoying... in fact by my estimation it's quite peaceful and relaxing.

2)Pump Noise: Follow the directions, rinse all the parts and the rocks and wipe them off before assembly and it'll ensure your pump runs the quietest possible. I'm running this new fountain with distilled water only, to help prevent build-up inside the pump, as well as on the rocks and reservoirs. Again, I assure you that you will not notice any pump noise with this fountain.

3)Light Issues: While it is indeed true that the three fairly bright LED lights point outward, toward the viewer (depending on height viewing the fountain from), after a couple hours of seeing them I had actually grown to enjoy their flicker from behind the two waterfalls. They appear to twinkle, which adds to the relaxing nature of this product. So if you've read the other reviews which state the lights are annoying or too bright, I'd take it with a grain of salt... as they are a welcome addition.

4)Water Issues; While you will likely have some sort of splash from any moving water source, especially indoor fountains involving natural rocks (which have irregular surfaces prone to creating spray) I have found the claims that this fountain is excessively messy to run also false. Once it's set up and running you'll have no problem with water splashing out. I'm running mine on nearly the lowest flow rate possible, and I find the sound pleasing, with no water splashing outside the fountain. The two little waterfalls are visually stimulating to watch, especially with the backlighting I've mentioned earlier.

5)Quality Issues: While it is indeed made entirely of black plastic, I find it to be of fine quality in construction and design, and also find the small flecks of silver they've added to add a little sparkle to it. Either way, they won't affect you enough to love or hate this item based solely on that fact. Also having owned another HoMedics fountain which I ran for years with no problems, and now after purchasing this new one, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend their tabletop fountains to anyone.

5)Size Issues: I believe that I read somewhere somebody complained about this fountain's size (or lack thereof). If you can read measurements, which are clearly listed in the description for this product, and own a ruler (or just have a good concept of measurement, as I do), then it shouldn't be a problem. I happen to enjoy the size of this particular fountain, it's not too large or obtrusive that it gets in the way, nor is it too small that no one will notice it's presence. Much like the story of the three bears, this model is 'just right'.

That pretty much sums up the false claims of negative factors I've seen people write about this particular model. I'd like to add a few things that I find to be selling points not really mentioned anywhere thus far.

1)Large Water Reservoir: While you'll have to refill any indoor fountain on a nearly daily basis (if you run it a lot), I haven't noticed this one using any more water than my previous one. Coupled with the fact that this model has what I'd consider a large reservoir, and you will probably be putting less water in this fountain less often. As noted earlier I'm going to run only distilled water through this newest fountain, as it should help to keep the cleaning to a minimum, as well as keep the inside of the pump more free of debris. They recommend cleaning your fountain weekly in the manual, which certainly couldn't hurt to preserver the pump's life and quiet operation.

2)Convenient On/Off Switch: My last HoMedics fountain didn't have an on/off switch, so the only choice was to unplug it. This model has the turn dial type switch near the unit on the cord, which is a nice touch.

3)TONS of Rocks! If you're worried about having enough natural stones to create an authentic 'river' feel (as the name implies) worry no more. This fountain comes with a large bag of rounded stones, plenty enough to cover the 3 tiers of the fountain.

4)LED Lights vs. Halogen: The last pump I owned ran Halogen bulbs in a glass enclosure. Not only did they burn out frequently, but the little glass enclosures that helped to seal and cover them underwater would heat up (due to the great amount of heat created by Halogen bulbs) and eventually crack. This left me searching for replacement bulbs, which weren't that easy to find, as well as replacement covers... which don't exist as far as I've discovered. This is part of the reason I bought the new fountain (along with the old pump's flow rate having decreased).

5)Easy to clean: As opposed to my last fountain, which was made of faux rock and porous, which made it difficult to clean thoroughly, the fact that this fountain is made of plastic not only makes it durable, but also a breeze to clean. Plus black goes with anything!

Hopefully after reading everything I've had to say about this fountain, you'll choose to purchase one of your own. If you're looking for a reliable, attractive tabletop fountain with a modern look, this is the one for you. In fact, at this point the only downside I can see with this fountain is if for whatever reason you didn't appreciate its appearance. But if you like how it looks in pictures, you'll love how it looks functioning in your home.

Lastly, I can assure you that I, as an extremely busy college student in my last semester of school (and with as little free time I have to myself as I do), wouldn't have taken the time or energy it took to write this extensive review if I didn't believe this was a great product. I just happen to know a solid product when I find one, which is exactly what you're getting in this fountain.

For the money, I challenge you to find a better value. Buy one today!

No problems yet5
I purchased this fountain for a garden window in my kitchen. Like previous reviewers have said, the pieces are cheap plastic, but it doesn't look cheap unless you look really closely or touch it. So far it has held up fine with no signs of flimsiness.

But the best part about the fountain is the water noise! Since I keep it at home and not on my desk at work, I can't comment on the sound in a very quiet environment or if you're trying to do work very close to it. But at home, it creates a perfect babbling brook effect. I wanted a fountain for water noise rather than for appearance, but it does look very nice, too. The fountain does a minimal amount of splashing, but a few drops do come out nonetheless, so make sure you place it a good distance away from anything that can be damaged by water. I don't hear the motor at all, even if I am very close to the fountain.

All in all, a great inexpensive fountain.

Just Around the River Bend5
Tired of fountains where you just hear a pump and you can't even hear the water? You won't get that here! You do not hear the pump over the water at all, you just hear the water sounds. There is a good steady flow of water, and the water flowing over the included stones gives it a lovely "babbling brook" sound effect. The water flow is good, and it has a nice design where the water does not get stuck on the levels but flows continuously through. The flowing water sound is very relaxing and peaceful.
It's made of black plastic with many tiny silvery flecks in it. The silver flecks give it a gentle shimmer, especially noticeable in the dark under the fountain's led lights. I think it looks nice. I'd say the light was a little brighter then a night light, mostly because of the water reflections that play across the walls. The LED lights are also easy to disconnect if you don't like them, you just leave the connector unplugged.
Most importantly, while it is plastic - it's not flimsy. It's taken a fall from a kitchen counter (when I was cleaning it) and held up solid with no cracks or breaks. Super easy to assemble and clean. Well made, so there is almost no water splatter when it runs.

Ours has been going in our house 24/7 for over 3 months, and has worked fine. Overall, it looks good and works good. It's a great fountain for the money.

Note: when you first get the fountain, it's important follow the instructions to wash both the fountain and the stones well before use. Homedics says most noise problems people report are caused by dust and grime from skipping this step are caused by people who do not do this. Once a week, take 5 minutes to give it a good rinse in the kitchen sink and refill it with clean water, and it will last you a long time.

Dirt Devil M0216CHM Kurv Handheld Vacuum Cleaner
From Dirt Devil

Kurv hand vac is stored in a charging station, so it is always charged and ready to clean up your messes!

  • Amazon Sales Rank: #21585 in Kitchen & Housewares
  • Color: Black
  • Brand: Dirt Devil
  • Model: M0216CHM
  • Dimensions: 13.30" h x 10.20" w x 28.20" l, 4.65 pounds

With its sinuous curves and elegant keyhole-shaped vents, Dirt Devil's Kurv looks more like a space-age vase than a household cleaning product. And while it picks up crumbs, dust, and spills just as well as your averagely ugly cordless handheld vacuum, the machine's aesthetics are its major drawing card. Created by renowned industrial designer Karim Rashid, the Kurv is stylish enough to leave out on the counter or coffeetable, where it's more likely to come into play sooner--before the Cheerios are ground into the Karastan, in other words, or just as the last-minute guests are due to arrive. The cordless design plugs into a charging base for storage, so the unit is always ready to go, and the dirt cup simply twists off to empty, sparing users the hassle and expense of disposable bags. Weighing in at just two pounds, the Kurv also features a replaceable filter and a soft tip, to protect delicate surfaces like hardwood floors or antique furniture. It comes backed by a limited three-year warranty. --Mary Park

Created by award-winning fashion designer Karim Rashid, this rechargeable, cordless, handheld vacuum cleaner features an elegant, sculptural design that can be proudly left out on display in any room. The top of the sleek-looking unit serves as the handle of the hidden vacuum, which easily twists off its plug-in charging base when it's time to clean. The vacuum provides a 2-inch-wide nozzle and a soft, rubberized, furniture-friendly tip for detail cleaning without scratching surfaces. Use the vacuum for daily upkeep around the home and for crumbs, dust, and spills that happen frequently. Since the vacuum sits in its charging base in between cleanings, it stays charged and ready to use at all times. Other thoughtful details include simple "on/off" control, a powerful 9-3/5-volt battery, and a bagless design with an easy-to-empty washable dirt cup. The vacuum assembles quickly with no tools required. The stylish handheld vacuum cleaner measures 6 by 6 by 18 inches and carries a three-year limited warranty.

The Paris Hilton Vacuum2
Four complaints:

1. This thing has the storage capacity to hold approximately 2 pieces of fuzz. Changing it out almost, but not quite, required my finding and reading the owner's manual. Not good. It's a freaking dustbuster, after all.
2. The bright and large charging light stays on constantly even if it's fully charged, wasting energy and never letting you know if it's truly ready to suck some more.
3. The strength of said suckage was merely adequate. It eventually defeated several hordes of vicious dust bunnies after I jettisoned the dead weight of its storage contents.
4. Its mouth is tiny. Don't expect to vacuum any area larger than a square inch, or you'll be there all day.

One begrudging compliment:

1. Admittedly, I've never owned a dustbuster before, so I can't compare its performance to anything, only it's looks. While its appearance IS very stylish and sexy, the inside is seriously lacking in substance.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend the Kurv to anyone unless they want a very sexy-looking nightlight. In which case it would be perfect.

Dirt Devil Kurv - Deserves More Credit; Pretty Good For A Cordless, Despite Low Suction3
The Dirt Devil 0216CHM Kurv Cordless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner deserves more credit than it gets. This is not a perfect product. It is definitely not designed for everybody. But as somebody who has bought way more vacuums than the average person, I think this model has a lot going for it that will appeal to specific customers.

SO SHOULD I BUY THIS?

* If you need a compact cordless vacuum for occasional clean up around your car or house, this is a product you should look into.
* If you need to clean large areas, look into the alternatives.
* If you are expecting the same power out of a cordless hand-held vaccuum as a corded one, you will also be disappointed with this. This works great for light use. Just don't plan on picking up nuts and bolts with it like people do on those infomercials.
* If you need to clean heavily soiled areas, look into another product.

PROS
+ The battery holds a charge longer than any other handheld I have tried! Just make sure you prime it properly (follow the instructions) and it should last a long time
+ Improved filter keeps dirt out of the motor; should help it last longer
+ The integrated charging base is very convenient and compact
+ Very nice design; button is flush on the top, good non-skid nozzle
+ Very light! See more in the alternative section

CONS
- Like all cordless vacuums, the suction is not very powerful
- The storage bin does need to be emptied often; hair and debris stick to the filter, so you will have to remove those things by hand to keep this thing working well
- The charge light doesn't change color to differentiate between "charging" and "charged" states
- The price may be slightly high for such a small unit

TIPS

As soon as you get your vacuum, plug it in for at least a day without using it. Once your battery is primed, this thing holds a charge better than any cordless vac I have tried.

Cleaning out the dust bin takes some getting used to. The filter of this guy is very good. At first, you have to pull it out in order to clean it and empty the bin. When you replace it, you have to line it up with a small tab that only fits on the top of the circular filter holder. While this takes some time, it holds the dust away from the motor better than others that I have.

ALTERNATIVES

The Eureka 71B Hand-Held Vacuum is very highly rated. Just an FYI, Eureka is a Dirt Devil company too from what I understand. I got one of those last year to use for spot cleaning. That version is corded and does have a lot more suction power than this cordless Kurv. So what's the problem with that one that made me shop for others? Well, even though it's twice the size, the dust collection bin isn't much bigger. That's not a huge deal. But cleaning the bin takes much more time. The filter gets clogged quicker and needs to be frequently changed. I also found that because that unit is heavier, I didn't use it as often.

Those who mainly want more power and don't mind replacing filters or dealing with wires may prefer the 71B. As for me, I find that the fact that the Kurv is light, small and always ready to go in the charging cradle means it gets used a lot more often in my house. It may only be good for a few dust bunnies, hair and dirt, but that's enough to make it useful.

The Eureka 79B The Boss Cordless Rechargeable Handheld Vacuum Cleaner is a similar design to the classic "dust buster." There are newer versions of the classic dust buster, such as the Black and Decker CHV9600 9.6-Volt Cyclonic DustBuster. I suppose those are more direct competitors to this one but I haven't tried those models myself. I really like that the collection bin is seperated from the motor by the filter. Those old school designs tend to be messier to clean up, but it may be worth looking since they sell for slightly less.

Similarly, Dirt Devil also makes a Kone Cordless Hand Vacuum that sells for a little less. I also own and have used that one. It is very similar to the Kurv, but the battery doesn't seem as robust and the dust bin is even a little smaller. I think that the improvements to the Kurv and the better filter make it worth paying a little more for it. You will have to decide if those features are worth the extra cash to you.

Of course everybody is aware of the newer Dyson handheld models. But the Dyson DC16 Root 6 Handheld Vacuum Cleaner and Dyson DC16 Animal Handheld Vacuum Cleaner retail for around $150 and $200 respectively. I'm not quite sure if I'm ready to spend that kind of cash for a handheld. Every site I have checked has complained of poor battery life for those units.

CONCLUSION

While far from perfect, this design is convenient enough that you will probably find yourself using it more often than other models. For light use around your house and your car, this is a good unit. For more demanding use, look into the other options.

Enjoy.

Best $50 I ever spent5
This is one of the best inventions ever!! I don't so much think of it as an art statement or anything, but have it sitting out on the floor in a corner of my dining room and it is fantastic. I actually like to have to use it!! No more dragging out the vacuum for one little dead bug or a little pile of sand. And I know I could pick up the bug with a tissue, but this is much easier and much more fun. It is SO easy to use and I just love it!! My grandma got one too and so did my mom. It's a good investment.

HoMedics PM-30BX On-The-Go Battery Operated Mini 3 Node Massager (Colors May Vary)

Good things often come in small packages, and the HoMedics PM-30BX Massage-On-The-Go Mini Massager is no exception.

Fabulously fun and pleasantly powerful, the Mini Massager is the ultimate go-anywhere, massage-anytime massager. Offered in a variety of irresistible colors -- pink, turquoise, green and purple -- and with cushy gel heads for a wonderfully comfortable massage, the Mini Massager is as fun to look at as it is to use. With convenient battery operation (and did we mention that batteries are included?), the Mini Massager can go wherever your travels and imagination takes you.

Like all of HoMedics products, the Mini Massager is built with high-quality craftsmanship and comes with a one-year limited manufacturer's warranty.

Wow! Big pleasure with the MINI5
This little battery operated massager is really good for the money. It is pretty quiet for the power it delivers. Only one speed setting, which is a shame, but for the price you can.t complain. I have found it to be very durable with use. It has three little legs, each with a gel nub at the end to soften it a bit. It has a great ergonomic shape that allows you to hold it in comfort, and it flexes in the middle to work with you angles and curves. I have used it on my head to massage my scalp, and it is the perfect shape for this. Your spouse can use this on knots in your back. It's shape is very versatile, as the advertising says it is "pleasantly powerful and fabulously fun".

Great value5
I purchased a dozen of these to give as Christmas presents to coworkers at the office. What a big hit they were! They look futuristic and they're very powerful. I think they're the perfect stress reducer and a great value.

Fantastic!5
Got one of these as a gift. Loved it and bought one for each family member, including one for work. Instant relief from muscle cramps, tight muscles, even headaches.

GXSM01HWW GE Shower Water Filter Reduces Chlorine
From General Electric

Shower Head Screws Onto the Filter System, Shower Pipe Screws Onto The Swivel Collar of the Filter System. Use and Care / Instructions Included. Installs In Minutes.

  • Amazon Sales Rank: #365346 in Kitchen & Housewares
  • Brand: General Electric
  • Model: GXSM01HWW

Spend The Money For A Good Filter!1
Short Story: I knew there was a lot of chlorine in my water, so I only drink bottled water. Then while I was whining about my hair thinning, a friend says that `Dr. Oz' was on Oprah saying that chlorine and other chemicals in our water can cause thinning hair. Off to Home Depot I went, but they and all other stores were out of just a filter (I didn't need an entire fancy showerhead system). When I finally received this Model in the mail, I screwed it on, turned on the water and the darn thing popped off and broke. I returned by mail it for another one, but that one is very tenuous in its stability. I would highly recommend getting a good solidly made shower head filter. This GE model is cheaply made, which brings up the old adage, "You get what you pay for". I'll let you know if my hair stops falling out later. I'll also let you know when I buy yet another BETTER filter (probably soon).

UPDATE: Two showers later, the entire filter snapped off. Now that didn't last long! I headed out for a GOOD filter head today! I ended up buying the "Culligan WHS-C125 Wall-Mount 10,000 Gallon Capacity Filtered Showerhead, Chrome Finish".

Works Beautifully5
I've had this unit installed for a little over a year and am very happy with it. It was easy to install, is easy to maintain (by replacing filter every 6 to 12 months) and makes a big difference. I could tell when it was time to replace the filter - the old problems returned, i.e. dry skin, hair, etc. So I'm online buying the replacement filter today. Definitely worth the small investment.

Easy to install - works well5
very easy to install and works as described. Haven't had any issues and I'm just about to buy my first filter replacement.

New Berkey Light Water Filter System With 2 Black Berkey Filters
From Berkey

Constructed of a shatter resistant, high impact strength non BPA copolyester; the system comes complete with two purification elements, a base and utilizes the latest technological advances. This system has a storage capacity of about 2.75 gallons and when in use it stands 26.5 in height with a diameter of 9. The system stands 21 when used without the base (included). Configured with two Black Berkey® purification elements the system can purify over 4 Gallons per hour. The Berkey LightTM system is designed for use during travel, outdoor activities and during unexpected emergencies. This powerful system purifies both treated water and untreated raw water from such sources as remote lakes, streams, stagnant ponds and water supplies in foreign countries, where regulations may be substandard at best. Perfect for outdoor activities and a must in hostile environments where electricity, water pressure or treated water may not be available.

  • Size: 2 3/4 Gallons for both bottles
  • Color: Blue

  • Dimensions: 6.00 pounds

Essential5
My family got one of these about a year or two ago and I think everyone appreciates it. This thing filters water better than I could have imagined. After drinking mainly from this, I can taste the chemicals (or whatever's adding the funny taste) even in bottled water.

The biggest problem is it's going to make having to drink other water quite painful (well, the filters and the intensely slow speed of this can be a pain sometimes too).

Good product to have for emergency5
I got one of the "berkey sport models," a smaller, similar, but more portable model of this product. It is kind of neat to have around for emergency purification of water. No matter what kind of emergency you get into you are going to need water. Works good for when you have doubts about the cleaness of your drinking water.

Fabulous - Clean Water Anywhere!5
I'd long heard stories from homesteading friends and off-grid families about how great the Berkey purifiers are, and now I know first hand. This purifier is considered the absolute best for off-grid and outdoor applications - it filers bacteria, chemicals, and all kinds of gunk completely out or to below detectable levels. You can even filter dirty pond and lake water into useable water.

We are renovating a rural house, and gutted it completely - no electric, no nothing. We bought the Berkey so we would have water when we camped out in the house. It is awesome - we pump some water out of the well with a portable pump and run it through the Berkey, and it is crystal clear and completely pure. Our well hadn't been pumped in five years and it was *really* dirty - still, perfect water once we filtered it through the Berkey. It's remarkably quick too - 4 gallons an hour. We even put our gravity-shower water through it, just cause we can.

We bought the Berkey Light model with the LEDs in the base. I originally thought that a row of LEDs in the base of my water purifier was silly, but I have to admit, it's pretty cool. The LEDs are on rechargeable batteries and it makes a neat little nightlight.

Brita Refrigerator Replacement Filters GE are guaranteed by Brita to fit selected GE, Hotpoint and Kenmore refrigerators.

Works great and it's cheaper5
You wouldn't think installing a water filter in a refrigerator is rocket science but apparently some people have had trouble with these filters. We use them and haven't had any trouble. If you follow the instructions you won't have any either. They're pretty straightforward:

- Fill the new filter with water. Tap the sides of the filter and add water if necessary, until the bubbles stop coming up.

- After the new filter is installed, run the water dispenser for 3 minutes.

It's that simple. We still get a few minor sputters after running the dispenser but that goes away quickly. The flow doesn't seem any less than through a new GE filter and the water tastes fine.

To remember when to change it write the date on the filter with a permanent marker after the filter's installed (so you can see the date clearly).

Exactly the same as the GE MWF5
I decided to replace the original filter on my GE refrigerator after about 10 months when the "change filter" light came on. I went to the local hardware store and found a replacement for $49 plus tax. It seemed expensive, so I decided to check Amazon instead and found these along with the OEM GE filters.
I was reluctant to try a filter other than the GE just to save a few bucks, but if they are identical, why waste money? Besides, Brita is probably better known than GE for filters. Anyway, the filter looks, fits and works just like the original. I have noticed no difference in water flow or noise. The water tastes clean and looks clear.
One note - as per the instructions you should pre-fill the filter at the tap before installation and then run about 10 glasses of water through the new filter before use to stabilize the flow.
As for the vendor - Fridge Filters, I found that you cannot track their packages online as you can with most things purchased from Amazon, but the filter arrived in Florida 4 days after my order was placed. I gave the product and the vendor 5 stars, not that I get particularly excited about a water filter, but there were no negatives to take a star away.

Works Just Fine4
I have replaced my filter twice already and am looking for a third (4th if you count the one the frig came with). First replacement was with the GE filter and second was with this Brita. I never noticed any slow flows or louder than normal sounds. Water doesn't taste any better or worse than with the GE filter. I stumbled accross these reviews looking for another replacement. I think I will go back to a GE model just to try and make another comparison. This review probably isn't that helpful except to say that the thing worked fine for me.

I have had the GE brand filter in for a while now and it is definitely true that the Brita filter flows noticeably slower. Still can't taste any difference in water. In the future I will go with whichever one I find is the cheapest.

Great for Piano Teachers!!!5
This product is the ultimate saver of time and patience. As a music educator in LAUSD, the behavior of my students is abhorrent. Most of these students are at a 1st grade level (musically), and teaching a piano class with 50+ beginning students was destroying my sanity. Anytime that I attempt direct instruction, they will not stop playing. I connected about 18 keyboards to each DSI Outlet two weeks ago, and I have not looked back. I am on the ultimate power-trip at the moment, and I don't think I will ever come back. Silence...sweet silence.

Beware1
I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to share my experience with this item.

This unit suffered from a remote that stopped clicking after a while and would activate itself by gravity alone. Just setting the unit down resulted in the tiny bit of weight of the button itself depressing the 'activator' inside the unit with no click. I had to balance the unit on its side when setting it on the night stand to keep it from turning on and off by itself when I walked across the floor.

I tried another model of the same type of product. The unit worked for a couple of days, then the lamp attached to it started to cut off after a few minutes. It would turn back on when prompted by the remote only to turn off again a few minutes later. The lamp worked fine when connected directly to the outlet without the unit.

I think the units, although of different names and slight design differences, might have been made by the same mfg. I realize the units may be made by different companies, my point is that the two variations of devices I owned both stopped working after little use. I have no proof of this but I attribute their faultiness to being poorly slapped together over seas.

Again, this is a great idea and was great for a few days but terrible QC rendered them a waste of money in a very short time. Maybe you'll get lucky and get a good one, it could be dumb luck that I just got stuck with a couple of lemons in a row. However, I would advise caveat emptor on this one.

Works perfectly!5
Just thought id let other potential buyers that these work great for me, i have 2 plugged into lights and another one for a fan... all work flawlessly and the remote control is cute and handy.

Waterboss Customer Support1
I purchased a new WaterBoss water softener in our new home 7 years ago. The unit worked well for several weeks and then started reverting to hard water after regeneration. I contacted WaterBoss for assistance and they told me to regenerate several times, test the water etc. etc. The unit was obviously defective and they offered no support in correcting the problem. Email to their service department goes un-answered. I have never had such poor service from a manufacturer in my 73 years. Think twice about WaterBoss. It does the job when it works, but that is rare.

Don't buy a Water Boss1
We have a 4-year-old Water Boss softener and have repeatedly had problems with it. Customer Service is always rude and incomplete with their instructions. What a waste of money!!! Buy another brand! Don't waste your money on this headache!!!

WaterBoss Stinks1
I installed a Waterboss 900 model about 4 years ago, and what a mistake! The unit has quit working sometime over the last year, of course it has a 3 year warranty. You cna forget calling "custome support"! What a bunch of know-nothings. I called 4 times and got a different "fix-it" scenario each time, and I tried them all to no avail. I wrote them an email explaining my dissatifcation with their product and got a call from a rep. They could not care less, an were not about to give me any leeway on fixing it, even though it was just 6 mths out of warranty when I first called.

dO YOURSELF A FAVOR: FORGET WATERBOSS! Go with another product!

The ZeroWater Filter Bottle Water Cooler Bottle replaces bottled water service so you: Save money, Do not need to schedule delivery of water, Do not need to store or lift heavy 5-gallon bottles.Unlike conventional gravity-fed water filters, ZeroWater’s patented 5-stage ion-exchange filter delivers the only filtered water to measure absolute 000 on the TDS meter. Compare that to the levels you’ll find in other filtered waters, most bottled waters and plain unfiltered tap water—all of which contain measurable amounts of dissolved substances. Meter readings for tap water average between 75 and 300. Conventional filtered water measures between 030-500, and bottle water between 000-350. The Bottle Filtration Syster Come with the following products: The unique two-chamber Bottle Filtration System with lid that fits any standard water cooler. The Filter Bottle comes with: Two ZF-201 filter cartridges that remove contaminants that cause water to have an unpleasant taste; and An independently made TDS Meter to give you peace of mind that your ZeroWater filter cartridges are working properly. It also lets you know when to replace the filters. When your water starts reading "006" it's time for a change.

Filters don't last long and develop an odor1
At first the water tasted fine and we were happy, but after about a month and half we noticed a fishy odor in the water itself (while the water tester was still reading zero). There are only two of us so I have trouble believing we could use up the filters that quickly and besides the water tester indicates the water is still clean each time the smell occurs. I looked on the Zerowater website and found no information about foul odors. I contacted customer service and all they could say was "sorry you're dissatisfied". We've had to replace the expensive filters every month and a half and my husband cleans and airs out the entire system each time he replaces the filters (which we have had to do 4 times now). Now we are very dissatisfied with the product and frustrated because we don't want to keep lugging home water and buying more plastic bottles. Personally, the smell is so gross that even after the filters are changed I'm hesitant to drink the water.

Too expensive for what it does2
I own a sophisticated R.O. system that produces relatively good water (16 to 22 TDS from an incoming supply of over 500 TDS. I get about 95-97% rejection rate)but I'm always looking for better. The ZeroWater unit I bought to filter my already filtered water does bring it down to zero but at a high cost. It also seems to me to be a clumsy, poorly engineered system (I am a State licensed Professional Engineer). There is a direct proportional increase in the time it takes for the system to filter as the filter becomes submerged in the water it produces. Atmospheric pressure also seems to play a role in the time it takes to filter. With the lid off the filter tray (allowing atmospheric pressure to bear down on the water in the gravity feed process) and mounting it sideways over the pitcher to create more free room at the bottom of the filter, more water is produced in less time. However, all of this is rather moot if you consider that a calcite filter put at the final stage of an R.O. filter system will do the same thing much cheaper. When I researched the calcite filter zero TDS result I wanted, I talked to a number of knowledgeable people in the water filtering business about achieving a zero TDS level of filtration. The consensus seems to be that at that level of water purification the PH of the water is more acidic than may be desireable for daily drinking. It was pointed out to me that pharmacies and laboratories typically use calcite filters to create zero TDS but it has never been adopted as an attainable goal for commercial or home use filtration. Further research revealed that no currently bottled water is at a zero TDS filtration level nor do the makers of commercially available purified water have any intention of producing zero TDS water. Also, all the experts I spoke with noted that virtually no one is capable of tasting the difference between zero TDS and up to about 8 - 10 TDS - which costs a whole lot less than ZeroWater to produce and can be made in much less time with an R.O. system. One other thing, I added a Ultra Violet light to my R.O. system (which is replaced annually for about $40) which to me is a much more important feature to have in home water filtration than absolute zero TDS. UV filtration in home and commercial systems is recognized by the experts as a significant component for water purity.

Expensive, Water Smells and Taste Fishy1
The first time I used the product the filters cleaned the water from 275 to 006pm. However, the filters are suppose to be replaced if the TDS meter shows 006. But I didn't of course, I mean that was the first day I bought the filters. I noticed immediately the water tasted funky, much worse than any bottle water I have ever bought. After a month the filtered water has developed a smell and taste that reminds me of a fish pond or dirty pool.

will not be buying the filters again. Their two expensive to replace, expecially if they only work for a week or less.

Hamilton Beach Hot and Cold Water Dispenser with Storage Compartment

Would never buy another1
I bought this cooler from Target. I had it about 6 months when it started making horrible noises and then quit cooling the water. Hot water still worked. It was always quite noisy, even when it was working "correctly". I will now buy a different brand. I need an appliance to last longer than 6 months!

Failed within warranty1
This item was noisy and cooling system remained on for hours at a time even when water level in jug was very low. Hamilton Beach refunded cost of appliance prior to warranty expiration. Will purchase brand. Lost confidence in Hamilton Beach water dispenser.

Beware1
Broke within a few months. I didn't save my receipt so it was my loss. I would not recommend that anyone buy this product with so many others to choose from.

Better than Rowenta! Hands down!5
I have owned Kenmore Irons, and a top line Rowenta that was recently dropped - replaced by this B&D model. It holds more water than others, there is no gimicky controls - very basic - press the button for the right textile setting and go. The sole plate is smooth - steam is powerful. I iron all my jeans - most come out of the dryer with hard creases - this iron presses them all out. Delicate items - poly and blends - no melting! My old Rowenta melted everthing it touched - and then the $15 cleaning kit was a hassel with Rowenta - not to mention all the spitting from the steam holes. Black and Decker has made a fantastic iron that well worth the money! Don't hesitate - just buy it.

Really good iron but...3
This iron does a really good job of ironing but it has a major design flaw. The cover over the water well breaks really easily. I had read reviews before I bought it where people stated they had the same issue. Like a dummy I figured they were just rough with it and was sure it wouldn't happen to mine. I was wrong. The third time I used it, although I was very careful, the piece that holds the cover shut broke off. I have to fill it and tape the cover down with masking tape. It's a real pain. And water still leaks out of the water well all over my clothes. You would think a company like Black & Decker could come up with something better than this. I'd be willing to pay more to have a better cover. 5 stars for ironing power and ease. 2 for design.

Outstanding Value5
This will be a short and sweet review. As a guy I hate ironing, but find it necessary to keep the work shirts and pants looking good. This iron heats up very quickly, glides easily and has an incredible shot of steam that would please Tim Allen, "Argh, argh, argh". My sisters $120+ Rowenta has nothing on this baby.

glittering liquid spotlight3
I received this as a Christmas gift, and so far it's been a pleasant diversion. It has one best view (as the back is unfinished) so it must be placed against a wall. It works best when full of clean water; the pump must be completely immersed, or an unwelcome grinding noise will result. Enclosed documents also explain that dust or heavy water can lead to increased noise.

I found an ideal place for mine, on a sideboy in a hallway, where the sound of the running water can be heard from two rooms, and where the light can be kept low so the silvery spotlights can sparkle in the running water. It's not made of stone (though polished stones are included for meditative and decorative purposes), but the black plastic is unobtrusive, and it's quite soothing. What more do you expect for $20 from the drugstore?

Beautiful Modern Fountain5
I love this little fountain! It's been going in our house 24/7 for over 2 months, and has worked fine.
We keep it on the floor of our dining room, where the lovely water sound can be heard throughout the first floor of our house. The sound of the running water is very pleasant and relaxing. The water flow is good, and unlike some other fountains the water doesn't get "stuck" on a level but flows continuously through. The illumination is subtle and nice, brighter then a night light mostly because of the water reflections that play across the walls.
The only down side I've found is that it isn't a 360 degree view fountian - the back isn't as attractive as the front, so you will want to keep the back against a wall. For the price, this wasn't a big deal to me.
Overall, it's a great fountain for the money.

Spitting fountain3
This fountain likes to spit all over my desk. Sometimes it does it more than usual. Sometimes it doesn't do it at all. I put it around my plants so they can get watered. Also, it's light plastic. I thought it would be a less flexible substance when I bought it. Sometimes I hear the trickle more than the pump. Sometimes I hear the pump more than the trickle. Overall, I'm pleased with it. I don't really understand the physics of the fountain, but I do believe the price should be lowered.
