Digital Picture Taking5
Excellent camera! 8mb card holds 80 pictures at the lowest resolution and are very viewable. Pictures print good and email quickly. When saving pictures to a computer a new folder is created using the current date and time. Very nice for when you begin using the same numbers and don't want to overwrite older pictures. The HP315 camera lets you look through a viewfinder or through a LCD display. We are really enjoying the camera. Great quality for the price.

This Camera Rocks!!5
I first purchased the HP 215 Digital Camera. I was low on money and thought it would do a great job. It did except for one thing. I didn't want to burn up the batteries so fast so I did not use the LCD. I trusted the Optical wievfinder and when I got the pictures downloaded, they were all shifted to the left and to the top by 1/4th of the frame. I upgraded to the 315 for $100 more and have been happy ever sence. With this camera, you can totally trust the viewfinder and know that "What you see, is what you get!" I can take up to 400 pictures in the "Fine" mode with Enegizer Titanium batteries. This is, of coarse, without using the LCD. Pictures are crystal clear and you can go as close as 10" for close-ups. I use 64mb of compact flash and get up to 173 pictures in fine mode. If you take lots of pictures, this will be plenty of memory unless you go to Las Vegas and try to shoot everything there is! This Camera is the Best for the price. Very Easy to use. HP gets 5 stars from me!!

Simple To Use Digital Camera With Great Results4
This camera is so easy to operate, I took it to a class reunion after having the camera for only 2 days. I took 35 pictures and emailed them to the school website and all the alums could download the photos they wanted. I had also purchased a 48mb flashcard, so I have been able to take 60 photos at the sharpest setting. I had heard about these cameras eating batteries, but I have taken well over 200 pictures, reviewed, downloaded, and erased with the same batteries that came with the camera. The battery indicator is still registering full battery capacity. I use the optical view finder to actually take the pictures. Photo quality is excellent and the software that accompanies the camera is also user friendly. You just plug the camera into either a serial or USB port and follow the easy steps to view or download the camera. After shopping the internet for the best features and prices of digital cameras and borrowing cameras from friends, I am really impressed with this camera. The only thing that keeps me from giving it the highest rating is that it doesn't have optical zoom, however, it does have digital zoom. This camera is a bargain for the price.

The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly...1
I bought this B&D bottom-loading water dispenser two weeks ago.

THE GOOD: It was exactly what I was looking for--great stainless steel and black look, the convenience of a bottom loading unit means no more lifting 5gallon bottles, cold/hot water spigot, and an attractive LCD screen that duals as a night light in the kitchen. For the first week, it was the best thing going.

THE BAD: After one week the realization that I had a lemon hit me when the hot water spigot stopped pouring water. This is a major problem, because we bought it needing the hot water as a convenience for my infant's nighttime bottle. But, after getting it on sale at Target for $159, I was willing to go through a little hassle with customer service to get the unit going again.

The UGLY: After spending 30-45 minutes on hold, the customer service rep had us open the top lid to access the resevoir and pour water inside. This seemed to fix the issue and we replaced the top cover and went to bed happy.

Well, the next day it stopped working again and we realized that was because the top resevoir had simply gone dry and the pump wasn't getting new water up to it to feed the spigot.

This time we decided to return it to Target for a new one. Well, turns out that we threw out the box after believing the unit to be fixed so Target couldn't even do an exchange.

Another call to B&D customer service, another long wait time. Rep tells us she can't refund or replace the unit, but that a manager will call us.

Several days go by with no returned call. Another call, another long wait. Rep tells us the same thing, but that we should call Target to confirm they can't take it back. At this point, I go online to review sites like Amazon (which I should have done first) and it turns out many people have had the same issues with this unit and B&D has failed to fix the problem.

We call Target and they again tell us they cannot return/exchange it without the box so we call B&D again. Another long wait, and the rep tells us that someone will call soon. My wife angrily explains that if she doesn't get a call back within the hour, she's placing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Miraculously, the rep says "hold on" and within 10 seconds the manager who kept avoiding us gets on the phone.

She says they will refund the purchase price of the unit. I'm waiting and will update this report if they do not send it. Long story short, this could have really been a wonderful appliance, but shoddy worksmanship and even worse customer service completely ruined the experience.

My advice: Steer clear of this product.

Needs Replacement Part Every 6 Weeks1
We bought this because it looks nicer than a top-loading cooler, and it worked well, until the plastic cap that seals the water bottle broke. Mine broke after three months (a few days after the date at which I could still return it to the store). I called costumer service for a replacement and they tell me this cap is only supposed to last 6 weeks on average. They will send a free one while under warranty (two years) after which you'll have to pay $2.75 for every cap. They won't send out more than one while under warranty unless I pay for it, so basically I am supposed to call them every six weeks to request a new one, and then wait for a 3-5 days without a functioning cooler for it to arrive. Who needs this kind of hassle? Not me, I would have bought a top loader if I knew beforehand.

Does not work and tastes bad1
This water cooler would not make cold water. We called customer service, and they had us taking the whole thing apart. It felt like they were reading from a different owners manual, telling us to remove things that were not there, or were in a different location. After 1/2 hour, the cooler still did not make cold water. Customer service said they would have a technician who puts these together, call us. We waited a week, and still NO CALL. Customer service is Primo, not Black and Decker, which I have heard here at amazon.com that they have horrible service.

The water tastes like synthetic tubing. It tastes aweful. We have taken this dispenser back. It tastes aweful and is not cold!

Holmes HM3500 8-Gallon Console Humidifier
From Holmes

8 Gallon Console Humidifier with 2 Tanks for Easy Refilling from Holmes for a 1700 Sq. Ft. area

  • Amazon Sales Rank: #63794 in Kitchen & Housewares

Still going strong after six winters in northern Ohio5
When we bought a five bedroom house in 1998, winter was fast approaching. I hate a house with low humidity. Petting the cat turns into animal torture, and walking across carpet and touching a metal doorknob always ends with a nasty surprise. Then there's the lousy feeling when you wake up with a plugged nose, crusty eyes and a sore throat from breathing dry air in a cold house.

We keep our Holmes 3500 on the ground floor in the entryway next to the living room where we have a wood burning stove. Rated to handle homes up to 1700 square feet, this model easily handles our 2400 sq feet. With three speed settings and large capacity twin tanks, the 3500 goes 24 hours between refills even with the woodstove running in the dead of winter. (The woodstove removes air from the home, which pulls dry outside air into the house.)

At the highest fan setting, the 3500 is a little noisy, but it pumps out the moisture. We typically run it on low or medium during the day, and then use high at night to saturate the air.

A small plastic humidistat was included with our unit, and we keep it at the other end of the house to be sure we're getting an accurate reading. For us, the comfort level is simple to determine. If the cat sparks when we pet him, we need more moisture. No question, using a quality unit like this results in fewer colds, better sleep and lower heating bills. Our thermostat stayed at 67 degrees all winter, and even lower at night, and we were comfortable.

What impresses me most is the durability of the unit, with one exception: the plastic handles on the tank of our unit were loose when we unpacked it, so we used superglue under both handles to bolster their adhesion to the tank. It might not have been necessary, but I didn't like the way the handles flexed when carrying a full load of water across a Pergo floor.

Our city water is on the hard side, so we usually replace the wicks every two weeks in peak season to maintain efficiency and comfort. BTW, Amazon has the best price I've ever found on wicks for this unit, so look no further.

Good Humidifier for the House -- But Costly Filter4
This is real good one , except the fact that the filters needs to be replaced every 4 to 5 weeks , which is almost 12 dollars . I have used some humidifers in the past and all of them never needed have the filter changed for weeks.

Best humidifier I've found5
This humidifier is great. I've had it for about a month. I knew when I saw it that it was going to put out a lot of moisture - it has an output area that is about 6 inches in diameter. Got back from a vacation last weekend and the humidity in the house was about 15% - after running this on low fan, high humidity for half a day it was up to 40% - based on a humidistat on the other side of a 15x20 room. It's loud on anything but low fan, but low works well unless you need to humidify a room really fast.

Eureka Enviro Steamer
From The Eureka Company

Enviro Steam Mop

  • Amazon Sales Rank: #29 in Kitchen & Housewares
  • Color: Spearmint
  • Brand: Eureka
  • Model: 313A2
  • Dimensions: 49.00" h x 12.50" w x 7.00" l,

I've summed up product comparisons for you!5
I spent days and days reading reviews for the perfect steam mop and I felt that the Eureka Enviro Steamer was the best choice. I'll sum up what I LOVE about my Eureka Enviro Steam Mop.
Eureka Euro Features:
1. Swivel head (a must, can get around objects)
2. tall and removable handle (yes you can take the handle off and steam your counters to sterilize them)
3. Eureka has been making steam mops for over a decade and this is the 2nd version of their VERY POPULAR steam mop.
4. Long cord.
5.Weight is on the floor where the water tank is, this makes it easier to use and makes for less scrubbing (tanks on the handle make you scrub and push down more to remove grim)
6. NO PUSH TRIGGER! This means CONSTANT steam. Who wants to hold down a button the whole time you're mopping?
7. The steam vents are from SIDE to SIDE..not one hole in the middle like some.
8. THICK and tough waffle cone pads. Picks up plenty.
9. HIGH heat (220 degrees)
10. About 3 minutes to heat water.
11. Leaves very little water on floor, dries quickly.
12. TOTALLY GREEN! Okay, I'm not a green fanatic (I don't recycle, sorry guys) but this product makes me feel like I'm making a difference! No wasteful trash (i.e. disposable pads) and it uses JUSTS water. No chemicals!
OKAY NOW SOME THINGS YOU SHOULD HEAR OTHERS HAVE SAID ABOUT OTHER MOST POPULAR MODELS:

MONSTER STEAM MOP:
1. BAD HANDLE (complaint after complaint about flimsy handle and it breaks when pushing too hard).
2. takes 5+ min to heat up.
3. does not have a swivel head.
(compared to Eureka: does heat up more- 266 degrees and does have extra burst of steam in front, more expensive)
SHARK STEAM MOP:
1. very flimsy handle and plastic tank (both break easily)
2. you have to "pump' the handle to get steam.
3. hard to push because the weight of the water is half way up the handle on the tank)
4. tends to "sleep" in the middle of the job as it takes a break to re-heat the water for the next pumping action.
5. heats to about 110 degrees.
BISSELL STEAM MOP:
1. Again, top/plastic water tank-very flimsy.
2. leaves very wet floors.
3. uses a "trigger" again to get steam.
4. thin pads, get soaked easily.
5. not hot enough (110 degrees)heats pad, but not more than hot water from your sink.
6. One steam hole in the middle, not all the way across like Monster or Euro or HAAN.
HAAN STEAM MOP:
1. cost more money
2. handle breaks again and not tall enough
3. does have attachments and removable handle
4. water has leaked from tank and burns hands when lifting up to steam object (like counters, beds, etc).
H20 steam mop:
1. 130 degrees temp
2. tends to leak from the tank and the tank is flimsy.
OKAY THESE ARE THE IMPORTANT THINS TO CONSIDER FOR ALL STEAM MOPS.
1. They aren't going to clean your grout. If you steam it and then get in there with a brush or rag I'm sure it will come up, but ALL fiber pads don't have "fingers" deep enought to get in the grout (neither will any product likely except a good ole fashioned brush) But they will be sterilized!
2. You need to take in consideration what type of water you have. All hard water will clog up your steamer over time. Use soft/distilled water (we installed a water softener in our house because we had VERY hard water)You could clean it with a de-calcification product (like CLR) or vinager occasionally.
3. You should NOT use a steam mop on unsealed wood or waxed floors. We are talking HIGH HEAT here and you're going to ruin wood if it isn't sealed, or melt that wax and make a mess.
4. Water should be at least 155 up to 212 degrees to kill germs (depending on the type of bateria). Steam is nice, but not if it isn't hot enough to kill bateria.
5. These are not ALL IN ONE floor cleaners. You are STILL going to have to vacuum. Heck-do what I did-invest in a Iroomba robot vacuum (HSN has Flex Pays) AND a steam mop. You'll have floors you can eat off of every day for very little effort.
6. My opinion is that ANYTHING that is rechargeable ins't going to last as long as something with a cord. Batteries have weird electronic memory to them (yeah I'm obviously not a tech pro) and they are luckly to last 6m! Don't waste ANY money on those rechareable products. They are a waste.
All in all this is the BEST product I've found for the cost, unless you want to invest a fortune in commercial grade steamers. I'm THRILLED with this purchase!!!

Throw away your mop.5
Very happy to see the Enviro Steamer return !!! I have had the 311A enviro steamer for 2 years. I had to pay an arm & a leg for it on ebay because Eureka discontinued this product several years ago. Mopping was my least favorite chore, it almost brought me to tears I hated it so much. I have over 1200 sq.ft. of tile in my house & keeping it clean used to be a daunting task. UNTIL........the enviro steamer.

One of the best purchases I have ever made. No more bucket & mop, no more over perfumed wet jet that leaves you with a sticky floor & expensive replacement pads & fluids. Now it is just water, the enviro steamer, a washable & reusable magic pad & me. I actually consider cleaning my floors FUN now. By the way.....men love using the enviro steamer, you may even find your husband cleaning the floors more often.

Hint: Get a few extra Magic pads, 1 or 2 is not enough unless you have only 1 small area to clean. After I finish with 1 room, I just slap a new pad on, refill the water, give the enviro steamer a few minutes to heat back up & I'm on to the next room. The first room is dry in minutes & clean.

This is THE ONE to buy5
I LOVE my Enviro Steamer. I bought my first one 10 years ago. Last fall, it gave up the ghost because of a design issue that has been solved in the new incarnation. In fact, the three minor things I did not like about my earlier model are solved in the new model. Way to go Eureka!

I made the mistake of trying a couple of other designs (Shark killed my back! and another one that was definitely made in China...both of the ones shipped to me never worked right). I was so happy when I went back to the internet and saw the Enviro Steamer was available again.

I told my husband I actually felt like dancing I was so happy to be steam mopping with my Enviro Steamer. I have about 800 sf of tile, I just fill and go, it covers the whole area. To move into another room, I simply unplug it, move, plug it back in and keep going. The weight is where it should be, on top of the pad. It cleans so well, for tougher stains just keep it steaming on that spot. In fact, it's cleaning the spots up that the others couldn't get! The pads are thick and easily tossed in the wash. The floor is clean, not wet which is great since I have two dogs. My white tile floor just sparkles and I know its clean because of the steam. I also like that fact that there are no chemicals.

Just vacuum, then use the Enviro Steamer. You'll never buy any other type of mop again, EVER! I promise! This is the best product for steam cleaning floors at a great price. (I paid $100 ten years ago for this.)
TRY IT, YOU'LL LOVE IT!

Crystal Quest Reverse Osmosis-ULTIMATE

Loving it!5
We have a neighbor moved in a few months ago. They have installed the GE reverse osmosis under their sink from home depot about $280 plus tax. We tried their water and loved it. That's when we started to research on reverse osmosis. We did not like GE, because the filters has to be changed every 6 months, and performance is only 92% at best, and can go down to 75%.

We chose the model from [...] because of the ultrafiltration before RO filtration and one between the tank and faucet. We like the stainless prefilter too. Because we had old iron pipes, we chose the iron removal option. Our neighbor told us that their water became stale after a few days of non-use (gone for vacation), all they had to do is to open the faucet, let the whole tank of water drain, and fresh water to generate.

So far for the last two months, we do not have any problems with ours. But we probably will flush the system periodically too. We have a handy man came to install the unit under the sink for us. He followed instructions and checked every joints for proper alignment, used bypass the tank first to flush out the food preservatives from the RO membrane, and flush out the first 2 tanks of water generated.

Before, we buy bottled water from water mart about 10 miles away. For cooking and coffee, we used Dupont faucet mount filter as well as Brita filter pitcher. But still, calcium deposit built up in our coffee maker reservoir.

Now, the water tasted so fresh and clean, we stopped buying bottled water. Our coffee maker reservoir is sparkling clean. We used filtered water a lot more for cooking, boiling eggs and rinsing vegetable. We're loving it.

For filter change, so far we don't have to do it yet. Eventually, when the whole set change is needed, we may buy it from [...]
If only prefilter change is needed, we probably buy it from Amazon.

So Quiet, so different from my old GE Merlin5
My old GE Merlin Reverse Osmois was disconnected after struggling with it for more than one year. The noise is totally unbearable.

So, I'm very specific that the system has to be very quiet. And, I'm not disappointed. I upgrade the system to 100 GPD, and have a 5 gallon water dispenser to store water in case the unit storage tank ran out. But, water is replenished very quickly, I never have a problem of running out.

In fact, when I drain the tank during installation, I stop draining after 1 hour. Water never really run out.

Water tastes better. And, I do not have to change any filter in 12-18 months. I like that as compared with 6 months in the merlin.

I'm glad I upgrade from Brita Pitchers!5
It's so much more convenient to have filtered water coming out right from the faucet.

As there is a pre-drilled hole on my marble top,my husband decided to have a go to install the unit himself, otherwise, we may have hired someone to do the job. It took him about 4 hours. First read the instructions. Turn off water supply, electricity, then position the filter stack and storage tank. Then connect water supply, drain and faucet, checking joints are tightened properly.

Instructions could be a little clearer though.

We like the deionization filter, as water is very hard in our area. We see calcium built up around our faucets except this new filtered water faucet, of course.
